Mr Alastair G. Lowrie BSc MBChB, MD, FRCS (Plast), UK Diploma in Hand Surgery
Mr Lowrie graduated in medicine from The University of Edinburgh in 1999 with Honours and prizes in anatomy and surgery. He trained in Plastic Surgery at the prestigious units in Newcastle upon Tyne, Manchester and Canniesburn in Glasgow. This provided extensive experience in Cosmetic surgery which he furthered with an advanced Fellowship in Cosmetic surgery and visits to top centres in the USA, Canada, Europe and India. In Hand Surgery Mr Lowrie completed one of the UK’s Advanced Training Fellowships and was one of the first surgeons in the UK to receive the UK Diploma in Hand Surgery.
Mr Lowrie is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Plastic Surgery, a fully accredited Consultant Plastic Surgeon on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery and a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). He has worked as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in Scotland since 2012. He specialises in Cosmetic Surgery and Hand Surgery and also carries out a large number of operations for skin cancers and lumps. Mr Lowrie is the author of numerous scientific papers.
Mr Lowrie believes that plastic surgery should be undertaken responsibly. Results can be life changing however realistic expectations are important. In depth consultations are crucial to finding a bespoke treatment plan for each client.
